vrealise for horizon - Horizon User Sessions dashboard blank
Hoping someone can help, I've recently installed a vRealise for Horizon v6.2.1 instance.
I've managed to get this setup and most of the dashboards are displaying data however the important dashboard for me named "Horizon User Sessions" is not displaying any data, can some one shed some light as to why this would happen or what I should be looking at to get this working?

Hello,
I started using the "Management Pack for Storage Devices" (v6.0.5) in vROPS v6.2
Since then, my two Nodes that are only consuming storage from the nodes that do have disks, keep popping up with this error "VirtualSAN Host has misconfigured storage".
The cause according to vROPS is "vmhba32 has symptom: No Diskgroups connected to the host adapter".
Really? You don't say...
vmhba32 is the onboard SATA controller. The nodes boot of a USB Stick.
Anyway, can someone from the VSAN team tell the vROPS folks that such a thing as a non-contributing node exists

24 bytes per metrics from remote collectors to Analytics nodes, every 5min (5min is the collection interval).

vROPS Performance Chart
Good afternoon,
Today I received a call from a someone claiming that their virtual machine has high CPU utilization over the past week. In the past, I was able to go into vCenter, click on the VM then click on the performance tab and pull a graph over the last week. (See attached example)
I am now trying to pull the same thing out of vROPS 6.0.1. I can't find a simple way to do the same task. Can someone please provide the steps to do this if possible?

Re: Use vRealize Operations to get VM snapshots and date taken
I'm fairly certain you can't get snapshots or the date they were taken. The best you can do is get the amount of space the snapshots are consuming with the metric you found. You could use the snapshot size as an initial warning indicator since you don't want them growing too large. But I agree that having the snapshot age would be very useful. I'm currently still doing this with PowerCLI.

Firstly I wanted to thank you for the direction below...I did exactly as you said... and it worked after a days worth of collecting data!!!
All I did was configure the vCenter connector and let it go and start collecting! I havent needed to create any additional policies or custom groups over the standard default, so really happy about that.
I've pulled the report that was of interest and it shows me exactly what I need... CPU/Memory Provisioned, Recommended and Reclaimable
However I have another question now...if you could be so kind... how can a powered on VM with 1CPU Core Provisioned, have a CPU recommendation of 1 and CPU Reclaimable of 1? Kind of confused by that... I cant reclaim the only CPU it has, can I? and there's quite a few of these VMs mentioned in the list!

Creating a new View and using the metric "Disk Space|Snapshot Space" I have been able to get snapshots on a per VM basis (use a list and not a summary view). I haven't been able to get or associate any other information about the VM snapshots, i.e. the date the snapshot was taken.
In recent reading, I may be able to get the information by creating a "Super Metric", but I'm not sure how to use them yet.

Find the VM(use the search field in top corner), click "troubleshoot" tab->"All Metrics"
In the left side find the metric and double click on them to get them shown.

VOA phase 1-2-3 pdf report not working in vRealize Operations Manager 6.3
While at a customer site, carrying out a VOA (VMware Optimization Assessment) using vRealize Operations 6.3.0.4276418 and using the latest VOA reports pack, I can only generate phase 1,2,3 reports with an CSV format.
In version 6.2.1 I was able to generate PDF reports without any error.
In the status column the phase 1 report says "completed partially"
When deselecting the CSV format and selecting the PDF format, the result of generating the report has the status "failed"
Ideas anyone?

have you installed EPOps agent with domain credentials. Can you check that the Windows service's properties > Log On has the domain account (wu=ith all the privileges) . It will be Local System account by default. But you can try giving the domain user details selecting "This account:" radio button

Yes it is running under a domain account as per above. It has been stopped and restarted and also ensured that LogonAsAService right has been granted successfully.

vCenter / vRops - Sharing my scripts
Hello Everyone,
I use vRops Suite-API and PowerCLI for vCenter to get data out for my day to day... sometimes I found a wealth of information on the interwebs and sometimes I couldn't find info at all..

For anyone which has ever tried to consume metric data via the Suite-API.... they know how painful it can be! one of the key script I built and which I keep building functionality into pulls multiple metrics, for multiple objects, transforms the data and push it into an XLS, it then builds in the Pivot + it generates a second tab in the XLS with information relating to the host, vm, datastore etc... This is something i use on a daily basis to provide data to customers (I will be this one will be coming soon)... something which I started with here: Help using Suite-API - getStatsOfResourcesCSV with Powershell Invoke-RestMethod
For vCenter I will also be sharing a powershell script I built to collect Inventory, relationship and metric data... this includes real time data collection using multiple jobs to collect simultaneously (also coming soon)

Horizon Adapter Instance Name blank on Horizon Adapter Self Health Dashboard in Horizon Adapter widgit- vRealize Operations for Horizon 6.3
Instance Names occasionally appear as blank on Horizon Adapter Self Health Dashboard under Horizon Adapter widgit. The blank instance shows as data receiving in the widget but Horizon Adapter Statistics widget shows NO DATA. Horizon Broker Agent widget shows all names and collecting. Administration / Solutions / VMware Horizon shows the adapter instance is collecting and data receiving. Usually will see 1 or 2 of the instances names in the dashboard go blank at a time. Bringing cluster offline and back online is usual fix. Anyone see this before?

I have the same problem with vROPS 6.3 and the VIN Management Pack.
Editing the Topology Graph and changing some settings didnt helped.
Someone found a better solution?

vROPS 6.2.1.3774215 - Storage Devices Solution Collection Status "Object Down"
Hi all,
Issue: vROPS 6.2.1.3774215 - Storage Devices Solution Collection Status "Object Down"
vCenters are on 6.0 u2.
vROPS 6.2.1.3774215 - Fresh deployment of Linux Appliance and there is a Master and Master Replica node.
The "VMWare vSphere" adapter is collecting and receiving data successfully.
I had configured the "Management Pack for Storage Devices" with working domain credentials that have the Administrator role in all my vCenters.
The "Collection State" is "Collecting" but the "Collection Status" is "Object down".
I have stopped the cluster and also restarted it using the standard sequence and this also did not change anything.
Does anyone know what the status means? Noting on Google that i am aware of.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
