I have generated the Storage report (attached by you) for one of my Clusters and it worked as expected, just remember for generating a report, you have to select an object from traversalspec, object selected during preview will not be saved it is just for preview operation, also you can see this video.

I just want users to authenticate by LDPA not using their vCenter Creds.
Not so easy to get them out of the vApp... so installed a Windows version and extracted them from there.
After raising a SR VMware are probably going to raise a KB for this.

Is it possible to configure SNMP alerts from vROps to go to different destinations depending on the vCenter or the Cluster registered in vROps or do the alerts all have to go to one destination?
I.e. I want a UK vCenter to alert to a UK SNMP destination and say a HK vCenter or cluster to send alerts to a different SNMP destination say in HK.
Not been able to find the answer online yet.

With 8 x Large vROps vApp applainces the maximum is 75,000 objects... with large remote collectors of 12,000 objects is that 75,000 objects a hard limit or can it scale larger with the collectors?
If I use a large remote collector does that reduce the maximum number of vROps VMs or is it in addiotn to the 8 node maximum?

Ah found my own answer, while you can configure multiple SNMP Trap destinations you cannot filter at the vROps end, so all destiantions will get the SNMP traps.
Can only filter in Notifications using SMTP or REST - which is pretty cool, but not what I needed.

I have a number of "virtual machine has chronic high memory workload leading to memory stress" alerts that I'm unable to clear. Every time I clear them, they just come back. I know these machines have no memory issues. Anything I can do to clear them permanently?
I need to loop through a returned array of objects to find the max value within those objects. Is there an easy way to do this using nested loops? Can someone give me some clues on how to do that? I tried to create a nested workflow using a custom decision, but can't figure out how to define the parameters; what level, how do they pass in and out of the custom decision, etc. - thx

In vR Ops, alerts are always fired if conditions are met.
That means you cannot just clear alerts without resolving the alert conditions.
In your case, you can review the alert definition and change the symptom threshold or disable the alert for group of objects from the policy.

Thanks for replying. So, how do I clear this alert - virtual machine has chronic high memory workload leading to memory stress. This alert may have been triggered when I recomposed the view desktops, but no longer do the VM's have a high memory workload. I don't want to disable the alert because I would like to know when this condition is true again. Thanks!

There are many ways to clear that alert.. for example,
- Make the recompose task routine so that vR Ops can learn the behavior and create a new alert definition that adds a dynamic threshold criteria to the original alert.
- Put the VMs into maintenance mode in vR Ops while the recompose task is in progress. (metrics are not collected and no alert fires when an object is in maintenance mode)
- Push the snooze button to make the alert go into sleep 9999999999 minutes. (just a joke but it will do the work anyway)

I'll have to remember 1 and 2 when I recompose next time, but how do I get rid of the alerts for now? I guess I don't really understand vrealize. If the situation that was raised thru an alert no longer exists, shouldn't I be able to cancel the alert and not have it pop-up until the situation actually happens again?

Trends from CPU and Memory, HDD Spaces and a VM Overview should be list in one Report from all VMs that are member of a Cluster.
Has anyboby an idea?

Hi Mathias,
Unfortunately, the Trend View is applicable only for object type that has been chosen in the view subject, so if you have created a trend view with subject Virtual Machine (to be able to choose VM CPU, Memory ...) you will not be able to apply that view to Cluster.
As a workaround, you can create a List view with Virtual Machine CPU and Memory, HDD Spaces and apply it to the parent cluster, so generated report will include all VMs that are member of a Cluster.

No - I want to delete a dashboard *template*.
So - you create a dashboard, then save it as a template. Now you delete your custom dashboard, but there is still a template available when you're creating new dashboards. How do you delete the actual template, so it's not there in the "new dashboard" wizard any more?
Are there still super metric packages in vrops 6.0? I see super metrics, but not any option to put them in a package...
I had the exact same problem and VMware support nor I could get it working. I ended up blowing away the instance and re-deploying a 2 node cluster from the start. Also be aware that I thought I could export my policies and simply re-import them. Nope, because I didn't add all of the adapters back (which was the suspected problem) I couldn't keep my policies.
Now with a 2 node cluster, the UI will lock up with some frequency with extremely slow logins and the dreaded "Try refreshing the UI manually" error. According to support this is a new bug with no timeline for a fix.
Seems like another product released half-baked....
