Hi,
Supermetric package has been removed from 6.0, instead of them you have to use Policy to associate a supermetric to any resource.
I created a supermetric and added it to a cluster object at the bottom of the super metric page in vrops 6.0, but it isn't showing on any of the clusters when I view them. Is there another step I need to do?
Thanks!
Seconded. If possible we'd like to remove the "Use vCenter Credentials" from the drop-down list for authentication into vROPs
Yeah, it works as expected, you have to navigate to Policy page and enable the supermetric for Cluster objects (in this case the supermetric will be applied to all Clusters) or enable it to all objects (in this case the supermetric will be applied to all Objects)
We don't use the Storage MP but taking a quick look at it might it be possible that the switch's hostname is set to "10" inside the switch itself? I'd be surprised if vROPS came up with that name by itself.
Thanks Boris!!
That was not an obvious one! ;-)
You're welcome.
I have several remote v Center servers reporting to virtual center operations manager 5.8.3. Each of the virtual tenants has a folder in under Home -> Inventory-> VM's and Templates.
Previously this was a folder was named alter the program group AWMS for example. Since the AWMS folder existed at multiple sites when viewing vCOPS Groups -> Folder you would see the AWMS folder repeated for every registered virtual center server.
So the folder under Home -> Inventory -> Vm's and Templates were renamed to include the location AWMS-Hawaii, AWMS-Dallas, AWMS-Michigan for example.
The problem I have now is that the original folder AWMS which is no longer present in Home -> Inventory -> VM's and Templates still shows up in vCOPS Groups -> Folder.
So how do I remove the folder ACAS which no longer exists from vCOPS Groups -> Folder view?
Hophophop& g0rbi - please refer to this article in order to edit the .jar file and change the timeout value.
Although I had this same problem, this instructions above did not work for me. What ultimately worked was to log into the vCenter Operations Manager Admin page and unregister vCenter then re-register vCenter.
Once the unregister was complete, I logged into vCenter Web Client to validate and the "Health State" was no longer present. After re-register of vCenter in the Admin page, logged out of Web-Client and back in..."Health State" was now present again and displaying health info.
Hope this helps!
Hi, bjohn
If the situation that was raised thru an alert(symptoms in vR Ops) no longer exists, the alert get cancelled automatically.
Though there are alerts that can be cancelled by pressing the cancel alert button,
performance metric based alerts cannot be cancelled by this way because the metrics are refreshed on each collection interval.
They only get cancelled by the system if the symptoms are resolved.
So if you want to control an alert:
1. Review the alert definition with related symptoms and
2. [Modify the alert definition] or [adjust the symptoms thresold in the policy]

Ho-Sung.
ok thanks!
Hi. I have same problem with my vSphere cluster. In vCOPS i see many oversized VMs and shrink vCPU and vRAM after it. When i upgrade to vROPS 6.0.1 i see Stressed VMs report, it show most of all previous "oversized" VM's as stressed. Report show that i have to increase now vCPU to 3 and more from 1. Please help me find, how to see current policy in vROPS and how to change it.
Hi Guys,
Does anyone have a simple explanation for the following metric:
VM ► disk►I/O Usage Capacity
The Documentation center does not provide much insight:
vRealize Operations Manager 6.0.1 Documentation Center
Metric Key → Metric Name → Description
disk | usage_capacity disk | usage_capacity I/O Usage Capacity
Thanks
Ciarán
Hi Guys,
Is there a way to create a disk space monitor in vops that only checks certain resource pools?
For example, I'm only interested in checking resource pools named "office-machines" on each host. I'd like to exclude resource pools named "dev-machines"
TIA!
Hello,
We're using the HTTP Post adapter to post objects. I've been able to create working alerts on objects in the past. Yesterday I've created a new object and added a new alert type with new metric symptoms to it. Ever since I can't get the alert to trigger. Some info to explain the situation:
- The object is related to the default policy.
- The metric symptom cycles are both 1.
- I've posted about 20 times since yesterday. To test the alert I've adjusted the metric values that I've posted: for some posts (after each other) the alert definition should be met (true), for others it shouldn't be (false).
- I recollect that with the previous alert is also took a lot of time (days) before we got it to work.
I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance for the advice .
Hi all,
I got a problem about vROps Custom Groups. I’m using vCenter Custom Attributes to populate these dynamic groups however it’s not working good at the moment. For example, let’s say I have a service name field in vCenter. After editting service name for couple of VMs, I’m configuring custom group rules to get VMs according to that service name. But nothing appears in groups. My questions are;
Thanks in advance
This! THIS! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, THIS!!!!!!!
Database Name: dbname;useNTLMv2=True (type it in exactly with no spaces and use correct Punctualization, in between dbname and useNTLMv2 is a semicolon)
Been bashing my head against this for what feels like a week. Everything I tried kept coming back as an account on an untrusted domain.

Just a thought, did you check the "keep group membership up to date" on your custom group(s)?
