Best regards,
I'm attempting to create a view that will show the free space in GB on each virtual machine, shouldn't be a problem...
I can see the size in GB, Usage in % and Usage in GB, the other option that I have is for showing Free GB on the guest file system, but this just returns a "-", and it is the same for all drives - C:\ D:\ G:\ etc
I've checked that the machines are running, any thoughts?
In vcenter task & events, I can see an info message:
Lost access to volume 56b9cab9-XXXXXX (datastore_name) due to connectivity issues. Recovery attempt is in progress and outcome will be reported shortly.
How can I check that if that issue is addressed in vRealize?
Hi Guys,
Thought I would update you. We found the issue…. and the issues are actually nothing to do with the upgrade to 6.3
Essentially, Swap had been removed / disabled from each of the vROPS appliances somehow which was making everything go crazy after the upgrade had happened and started impacting on the Analytics process. However this is not the end of it more of the start of it.
To our horror each of the partition tables where swap is supposed to live are corrupt, not only that the following is also corrupt on both Master and Master Replica
/dev/mapper/data-db
/dev/mapper/data-core
We have no idea how this happened and cannot find any trace of malicious intent or trail of any kind from historic commands... I guess we will never know.
This has found it's way into all of our backups with no way to recover. GSS have worked on the issue with us and confirmed that we will have to re-deploy to get to a fully supported position which sucks!
Rich
Unfortunately, the server stays at "Waiting for Analytics" until it times out. I have followed the suggestions in a couple of KB's:
I did find some heap files to clear...
I don't see the /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistance-net.rules file at all
In the collector log I am seeing the following:
2016-11-15 14:34:14,866 INFO [Heartbeat] com.integrien.alive.collector.HeartbeatThread.doHeartBeat - Heartbeat failed: Unable to connect to any locators in the list [/10.2.75.61:6061]
2016-11-15 14:34:44,912 INFO [Heartbeat] com.integrien.alive.collector.HeartbeatThread.doHeartBeat - Heartbeat failed: com.gemstone.gemfire.cache.client.NoAvailableServersException
2016-11-15 14:35:14,962 INFO [Heartbeat] com.integrien.alive.collector.HeartbeatThread.doHeartBeat - Heartbeat failed: com.gemstone.gemfire.cache.client.NoAvailableServersException
2016-11-15 14:35:45,006 INFO [Heartbeat] com.integrien.alive.collector.HeartbeatThread.doHeartBeat - Heartbeat failed: com.gemstone.gemfire.cache.client.NoAvailableServersException
As it is all on the one node, not sure why it would not be able to find it.
Any further suggestions would be welcome. As mentioned previously, I am seriously hoping to avoid rebuilding this thing from scratch.
Looking to get some basic information on how licensing actually works. We're monitoring hosts, datastores, VMs, etc, but it looks like ONLY VMs are taking up a license. Is this correct? Also, are powered-off VMs using up licenses, and if so can I make it NOT do this?
Good morning all,
I keep getting alerts from vRops that state the following:
"Error synchronizing user privilege information with VMware Virtual Center
Hello ,
If one had purchased Standalone product edition that will be Licensed per OSI and if one got it bundled with VMware suite that will be Licensed per CPU , vROPS has it's own license-management GUI which provides administration of license keys , If needed one can deploy mix editions in a single vROPS instance. By default vROPS would not account for powered off VMs, but it will allocate an OSI to a VM which you didn't intend to monitor or powered off at a later stage.
there are 2 default groups (Unlicensed and Product Licensing), All the running VMs from all vCenters will be added automatically to the Licensed group. Unlicensed group contain all members with expired key etc.
In order to exclude the powered off or test VMs which you do not want to consider monitoring edit the Licensed group membership by “excluding” the unwanted VMs:
Go to Administration > Licensing > License Groups > Product Licensing Add Members > Object type: Virtual Machine and Choose whichever property better applies to the target VM () , Something similar to shown below
Thanks
Log Insight can do that for you. You can get the error from Log Insight send to vRops.
I'm not sure from vRealize but you can can SSH into a host and run esxcfg-mpath command like I have listed below. You can see the state is active and it will list all paths.
~ # esxcfg-mpath -l

Can you please collect dbe event log using EcmDebugEventViewer.exe tool located at %VCM Install Folder%/Tools during installation job and post it here.
Also open SR and post SR number here.
Thanks, Oleg
Hi,
This is in VROPS version 6.0.0
Please advise how to specifically send SNMP Traps to outside from VROPS data node always.
I was working for sending SNMP traps expecting receiving from one node, but observed there is inconsistency as SNMP traps being sent from data node and sometime master node.
How to enforce always the SNMP traffic is being sent from Data Node all the time.
Kindly reply as soon as possible.
Thanks and Best Regards,

Hi expert
I have a question.
I build vRealize Operations Manager for Horizon(v4H).
V4H broker agent need to install Connection Server, I known.
Could you tell me that do I need to install on Security Server ?
Thank you

Create a View of VMs IOPS and do a Total at the end
Don't think there's a way to do it. Log Inisght can, do it and you could set it up to send you and email every week.
There is a Metric "Total Guest File System Free (GB)" under "Guest File System stats" that will show you the remaining disk capacity.
To be able to use it make sure of the following:
I quickly calculated the given figures as described colorfully with the formula in the image ;-) and it looks pretty okay to me (except for some really minor rounding differences I presume).
I hope this helps!

Correct. Licensing is either at the host level based on CPUs using vSOM or vCloud Suite or per VM (aka OSI). In either case, objects themselves are not licensed just the VMs
Ok, so how can I go about no monitoring any? Anything/everything I've tried with modifying the licensed group hasn't resulted in the "licensable objects' number going down.
I just installed vRealize 6.4 and do not see the Python Actions Adapter listed under Adapter Type in the configure Solutions option.
I was able to configure the vCenter Adapter, however, I don't see the Python Adapter.
Has this changed in 6.4 as I was able to install int in6.2?
thanks
